Fake (Reproduction) or
Original Robertson Badges?
It's important to any collector to know when you buy a golly badge, you believe it to be a true Robertson's badge. The trouble these days, is that some badges have been reproduced,  it seems to be the more expensive badges for the benefit of making money, taking away the fun of collecting. I have listed some of the more popular badges where they have been reproduced to look like the original Robertson golly badges. These are not all of them, so be aware!
 

   Although I have tried to identify the different between Robertson's Original badges and reproductions. I don't know everything and more information would be greatly received. This information will be helpful for all true Robertson golly collectors.

HMS CRICHTON

Note. The fake has bigger eyes (Full Circle) Original has 1/2 eyes

Lighter Blue Colour

The Hat has different banding. Reproduction has two white areas.

The metal area around the badge is curved around the feet and bottom of the trouser leg.

IMPORTANT
The original HMS Crichton does not have a backstamp, there are also reproductions that have no backstamp too. A reproduction also exists that has  a limited edition of 1-300

IMPORTANT

This badge is think is the hardest to tell between the original and the Reproduction as the colour are more closely matched than other reproductions
