In August 2001, Robertson's says it has shredded the golly, which was its mascot for 91 years, because children no longer recognise the character.

Robertson's, famous for its controversial Golly mascot released the Roald Dahl badges to spark  interest amongst a new generation of collectors.

   Robertson's launched the first Roald Dahl set on 23rd August 2001 to replace the Golly Badges, this set of badges introduces the major characters from seven of Roald Dahl's books. Apparently Robertson's issues one free Roadl Dahl badge when you purchased a Golden Farewell badge. Unlimited (70,000 produced).
